• Advising a listed mining group on its sale by tender of a 30% interest in two major Indonesian mines for US$1.3bn. The work involved drafting a sale and purchase agreement, a shareholders' agreement and a long term uptake agreement.

• Advising a leading Chinese company in connection with the sale of its investment in a port in mainland China, including advice on selection of financial advisers, drafting the share sale and purchase agreement and due diligence and structural issues for a total value of US$1bn.

• Advising a major Middle Eastern state energy company on joint ventures with a number of leading shipping groups to invest in LNG carriers for long term charters with a total value of approximately US$3.5bn.

• Acquisition by Validus Re of Lloyd's group Talbot Holdings.

• Acquisition by Syndicate Holdings Corp of HSBC Insurance (UK) Limited.
