  • Immediate Assistance – our team of experienced casualty response lawyers and mariners travel, on demand, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, worldwide. We recognise that immediate response to a casualty is critical to ensuring a successful outcome.

  • Depth of Experience – the firm has more ex mariners than any other law firm in the field and a large team of dedicated lawyers with many years of relevant experience, trained in current issues affecting the industry including the use of modern navigational aids. Many of our mariners are legally qualified.

  • The Right Team – our experience allows us to assess quickly the appropriate level of response to any casualty to protect your position. This maybe a Senior Investigator attending to take statements on site or at the next convenient port. Alternatively it may be the mobilisation of a team of lawyers and ex mariners to several different destinations simultaneously.

  • Media Response – we understand the need to deal with the inevitable media interest effectively and positively, balancing the strict legal position with your commercial requirements. Our senior Partners are media trained and will help you with all aspects of communication and public relations.

  • Anticipation of Future Problems - while dealing with immediate issues, we are able, because of our experience, to anticipate future problems and control the dissemination of evidence to protect our clients against future claims.

In addition to assisting when casualties arise, we also provide proactive advice on crisis management procedure including:

  • Set up of procedures tailored to clients' individual industry sector and requirements.

  • Review and development of existing procedures.

  • Participation in clients' own crisis management drills to test the effectiveness of procedures and to ensure our service is tailored to their particular requirements.

The team is available 24/7 to attend casualty incidents worldwide and with our global network can be on location within 24 hours practically anywhere in the world. In the event of an emergency you can call the Partner you usually deal with or the out of hours emergency number which is manned 24/7 by the firm's own staff.
