What we do Experience

We have a dedicated logistics team that advises our clients on how to manage all issues that arise from their logistics’ operations.  Through our integrated global network of offices, we offer a comprehensive range of dispute resolution and transactional legal services to companies buying, selling, operating and insuring logistics and multimodal transport businesses and services:

  • Corporate:  We have a dedicated team specialising in corporate transactions for clients operating in logistics and transport, working together with the firm’s mainstream corporate practice.  We offer in-depth industry experience with extensive expertise in all aspects of mergers & acquisitions, management buy-outs/ins, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, company restructuring and finance.

  • Disputes: The team handles all manner of commercial disputes arising out of logistics operations and the carriage and warehousing of goods, as well as customs related disputes and claims arising out of value added services and projects. We advise insurers and assureds on coverage issues and assist logistics providers and cargo interests on their insurance programmes generally and for specific projects.

  • Insurance:  We have been involved in the development of a number of the leading insurance policies available globally to respond to new risks arising from changing business operations. We are closely involved in many of our clients’ risk management programmes and have extensive experience in preparing quality procedures and risk assessments.

  • Customs:  Increasingly complex customs and international trade regulations are having far-reaching operational, commercial and risk management impact on supply chains. We work with clients to minimise the impact of onerous regulations. We advise on other means of making their businesses more cost-effective, such as duty reduction, duty suspension and counter anti-dumping initiatives. We provide advice and support with customs and export/import licensing investigations, pollution and environmental-related prosecutions, quota disputes and documentary non-compliance allegations.

  • Regulatory:  We advise on competition and anti-trust matters, sanctions, trade licensing including in respect of controlled and dual use goods, data protection and supply chain compliance matters.

  • Real estate:  We handle transactions involving warehouses, distribution centres, ports, terminals and office premises.

  • Employment:  We advise on all aspects arising from employment, including advising on contracts, incentives, workplace disputes, regulatory issues and proceedings.

  • Technology:  We have a particular expertise in relation to technology serving the logistics, supply chain, energy, maritime, insurance and information technology sectors.
