Construction, Engineering & Infrastructure

What we do Experience

Our construction, engineering & infrastructure practice covers both contentious and non-contentious matters with clients across the entire spectrum of the industry, from international and domestic contractors, governmental bodies and developers to subcontractors and suppliers. Our team works on projects including ports, terminals, power stations, offshore oil and gas facilities, hospitals, railways, bridges, offices, retail and leisure developments, aircraft manufacturing and refurbishment, factories, housing and hotels. We are also experienced in handling matters involving PFI, PPP, BOT and partnering contracts.

  • Project Counsel: a unique aspect of our service, where we are involved during the lifetime of a project, thus assisting our clients in dispute avoidance, or if unavoidable, preparing or defending claims in a proactive as opposed to a reactive way by being involved at the time issues arise.

  • Contract documentation: regularly of an international nature such as joint venture and shareholder agreements, with particular emphasis on the review and negotiation of contract terms for contractors, developers and consultants.

  • Dispute resolution: involving all forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, expert determination and adjudication to more formal proceedings in arbitration and the courts.

  • Transactional matters: including methods of procurement, preparing and negotiating the terms of construction and engineering documentation including tenders, letters of intent, main contracts, sub-contracts, consultants' appointments and warranties, performance bonds and guarantees.
