We are pleased to have been recognised by one notable industry award and one industry survey recently...

On Wednesday 16 November, Ed Newitt collected the award on behalf of HFW for 'Maritime Lawyer of the Year' in the Lloyd's List Awards, Middle East and Indian Subcontinent 2011.

The award celebrates the very best in the legal profession and is given to the individual lawyer or law firm that has offered the best service in the region to the maritime industry over the past 12 months. Judges looked for exemplary expertise and commitment to the shipping industry, as well as for clear examples of innovation where lawyers have played a crucial role in notable cases.

HFW Middle East Head, Ed Newitt said: "This is not the first time the office in Dubai has won the award. However, we are delighted that our work in the region in shipping and trade has been recognised. This is an important part of the world for HFW, so receiving recognition for the work we do is a great boost".

Meanwhile, on Thursday 17 November, Legal Week magazine published its annual Client Satisfaction Report. In the 8th annual survey, HFW received  the highest ranking of major London-based firms outside the top 10, with an average score of 8.32 out of 10. The survey of major law firms operating in the UK is based on feedback from 1,069 companies, including 78% of the FTSE 100.

The flagship research initiative graded firms on six criteria: cost/billing practices; service delivery and responsiveness; use of IT and knowledge management; personal/partner relationships; and the quality of commercial and legal advice.
