Launch of Crisis Management Handbook Seminar
HFW will be hosting this seminar as part of London International Shipping Week.
Date
11 September 2017
Location
HFW, Friary Court
Summary
A crisis is different to a serious incident. It is an extraordinary situation that threatens an organisation's strategic objectives, or viability and reputation. Unlike an incident which can usually be dealt with by pre-planned responses, a crisis is dynamic and requires leadership and direction from the highest levels of an organisation. The ability of an organisation and its management to deal effectively with a crisis will reduce the longer term reputational and financial impact of a major incident.
While safety in the maritime industry has improved significantly over the last 25 years or so, operations at sea remain complex and can often take place in remote, ever-changing and demanding environments.
Recognising the complexity of maritime crisis in comparison to those onshore, the UK Chamber of Shipping, in conjunction with HFW and Regester Larkin by Deloitte, will launch a Crisis Management Handbook to supplement existing industry standards and to provide higher-level guidance to adopting best crisis management practice in the UK maritime sector.>.
HFW is pleased to invite you to the launch of this handbook, which will take place during London International Shipping Week.
