Summary

HFW Partner Sue Barham and Associate Christopher Smith will look at the forthcoming introduction of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) to aviation claims. Social media has changed the way airlines interact with their passengers. As a platform, social media has the ability to reach out to a wide and diverse audience, disseminating information at a phenomenal pace. This seminar will examine the role social media plays in handling passenger claims and also during major incidents and will offer some insight into how best to respond when information is published, often in real time. Summer 2015 will see the introduction of ADR to a number of different classes of passenger claims. This seminar will provide an update on the anticipated structure and give some guidance as to how claims will be dealt with under the ADR scheme.
