More about Emilie

Emilie specialises in marine, energy and offshore, and is named in the latest Legal 500 “Next Generation Lawyers” list.

She has over ten years' experience of drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts for the shipping and offshore energy sectors, including BIMCO forms and other standard contracts, as well as bespoke charterparties (particularly for the LNG, offshore support, heavylift and offshore wind sectors), marine insurance and shipbuilding contracts, and a wide range of other commercial contracts. She also has broad experience of resolving disputes arising out of such contracts, and dealing with the legal and practical issues arising out of maritime casualties.

Emilie has gained practical experience through secondments at:

  • three International Group P&I Clubs, handling a wide variety of P&I and defence claims, with a particular focus on tankers and offshore vessels;
  • a global shipping and energy conglomerate in Copenhagen, working as legal adviser to its supply vessel, LNG carrier and FPSO businesses;
  • the UK headquarters of a multi-national oil company; and
  • the commodities division of a major investment bank.

Emilie is a regular speaker at shipping and offshore conferences. She speaks fluent Danish, good conversational German, French and Norwegian, intermediate Japanese and basic Russian.

Emilie is qualified in England and Wales.
