In recent years Dimitri has been involved in a number of high profile matters, some of which are reported cases. By way of example, he represented the successful shipowners of the "IRENE EM" in High Court proceedings concerning their claim for constructive total loss against hull and IV underwriters (Venetico Marine v International General Insurance Co and others reported at [2014] 1 LLR 349). He is bilingual (English and Greek) and practised for many years in the firm's London Shipping Litigation and Casualty departments. Dimitri is frequently recommended in the legal directories and is ranked as Band One by Chambers 2018 who say he has “a market-leading reputation for handling a variety of contentious dry and wet shipping issues, including groundings, bareboat charter cases and shipbuilding contract disputes. He is described as "very knowledgeable" and "an excellent shipping lawyer," with sources "praising his experience and ability to manage teams on complex shipping matters.” He is recommended in the Legal 500 2017 as having “in depth expertise”.
